Nursing Assistant

The Nursing Assistant Certificate is approved by the Arizona State Board of Nursing to prepare students for basic-level nursing assistant licensure. Emphasis is on communication, patient safety, anatomy and physiology, nursing process, specific patient care skills, patient rights, and legal and professional responsibilities. Students who complete the Nursing Assistant Certificate will have the training to deal with the basic physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients, especially those in the geriatric population.
