Western Undergraduate Exchange Program (WUE)    Fee Information

Pro-Pilot WUE Fee Schedule

(flight fees remain constant, only tuition credit costs increase):

Private Pilot Certification - $ 5,360
Includes ground school and 33.5 hours of flight time in a Piper Warrior - PA-28-161 and 3.2 hours of flight practice in a training device.

Instrument Rating - $ 6,353
Includes ground school, 25 hours of flight time in a Cessna 182RG and 12 hours of flight practice in a flight training device.

Commercial Pilot Certification - $ 13,847
Requires prior completion of a Private Pilot Airplane Certificate. Includes ground school, 96.7 hours of flight time in a Piper Warrior – PA-28-161, 19.7 hours of flight time in a Cessna 182RG, and 3.6 hours of flight practice in a flight training device. 

Multi-Engine Rating - $ 3,242
Includes ground school, 10 hours of flight time in a Beechcraft Baron – B-55, and five hours in a multi-engine flight training device. (Part 61)

Core Pro Pilot Program - $ 28,802
(Non-resident tuition and fees and regular flight fees based on current regulations as of May 2002) 

Additional ratings available (AZ res. including tuition and fees and flight fees):
Initial Flight Instructor Certification (CFI Airplane) - $ 5,174
Includes ground school, 11.6 hours flight time in a Piper PA-28-161 and/or Cessna 170B, and 13.4 hours flight time in a Cessna 182RG.
Flight Instructor Instrument Certification (CFI Instrument) - $ 2,503
Includes ground school and 15.7 hours flight time in a Piper PA-28-161. (The student may complete all or part of this course in the Cessna 182RG at additional cost.)
Flight Instructor – Multi-Engine Rating (MEI) - $ 4,494
Includes ground school and 15 hours of flight time in a Beechcraft Baron – B-55. (Part 61) (The Multi-engine Flight Instructor Rating requires the applicant to have 15 hours of multi-engine PIC time for certification. Additional time and cost may be required to meet this requirement.)


All courses meet or exceed pertinent FAA regulation requirements.

All tuition and fees shown are approximate and subject to change according to Governing Board policy, FAA or FCC regulation changes, and/or student progress.)

Application must be made to both the college and the Aviation Department.

A non-refundable deposit of $90 is required with the Aviation Department application and is applied to program costs after enrollment. The deposit will be refunded if the student is not accepted into the program by the Aviation Department.

Professional Flight Technology Program can also be taken through the Cochise College/Pima Community College cooperative flight program at Tucson International Airport. Rates vary slightly.

Aviation Maintenance Technology WUE Fee Schedule
The AMT program is conducted in five phases starting twice each year in January and July. The chart below shows the phases, units of credit, and tuition and fees for the program. The phases are I - General, II - Basic Airframe, III - Advanced Airframe, IV – Basic Powerplant, and V – Advanced Powerplant.
