Summer Bridge Program

Cochise College offers qualifying high school students a chance to get a jump start on academic success by participating in a summer transition, or bridge, program.

Funded by a Title V grant for Hispanic-serving institutions, the program accepts applicants who are Hispanic and first-generation or low-income college students. The program mission is to build a positive association of learners in a culturally sensitive environment at Cochise College. It is free to qualified participants, and $400 to $500 stipends are available to those who successfully complete the program.

Participants will study the following to prepare for their first year at Cochise College and transfer to the University of Arizona South:

  • college survival skills
  • math review
  • computer skills
  • English
  • reading and writing, including English as a second language where necessary
