Center for Teacher Education - Title V Grant

Our Mission

Implementation Strategy 1: Create a Seamless Academic Pathway

  • Strengthen community links in order to reduce barriers to Hispanic and low-income student success along the academic K-16 pathway
  • Align curriculum and reduce gaps and overlaps in requirements, high school through BA/BS degree
  • Increase tracking of students along the K-16 pathway

Implementation Strategy 2: Embracing the Learning Community

  • Improve students’ readiness for transitions to college and to transfer through summer bridge programs at Cochise College and UA South, featuring college skills and savvy.
  • Increase students' success through learning communities in teacher education
  • Improve students persistence through comprehensive support: tutors, mentors and internships.

Implementation Strategy 3: Faculty Development

  • Increase faculty skills in curriculum development for the learning communities
  • Develop culturally sensitive teaching and learning methods
