Computer Labs - Operating and Usage Rules

Close Window

Use the Internet for research and fun.

Do not visit pornographic sites or attempt to download pictures from such sites. If you ignore this warning you will be banned from further lab use.

Users are expected to maintain a sense of decorum in the labs. Please, no displays of temper toward the equipment or supervisory personnel.

No eating, drinking or smoking in labs.

Children are not allowed in the labs on a regular or routine basis.  In the event it is necessary for a parent to bring children to a computer lab on an occasional and limited basis only, lab aides may use their discretion and grant special permission for children to be present, if space allows.  If such permission is granted, parents are responsible for ensuring that their children are closely supervised at all times and that the presence of their children does not distract others.

Copying software from lab computers is illegal, and as a practical matter, rarely produces a workable copy.

Do not install anything on lab computers. System protection in place prevents permanent installation of software by other than supervisory personnel. Be advised, anything you download or install on the computer is valid for the current session only. When the computer reboots, everything you installed or placed on the hard drive is lost.

Anyone not adhering to the above operating rules will be banned from further lab use.
