Cochise College offers day and evening programs in English as a Second Language (ESL) on our Douglas Campus and the Santa Cruz Center. Many students and employees at those locations are bilingual in English and Spanish.
The ESL program helps students improve their English speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar skills and prepares them for college-level classes. Courses are offered in four levels: beginning, high beginning, intermediate, and the bridge semester, for students who want to continue in college-level studies. The evening program emphasizes English communication for professional purposes. The ESL program also offers social and cultural activities, as well as trips to sights of interest.
ESL courses are regularly available during the fall and spring semesters. A six-week intensive English Immersion program also is available during the summer on the Douglas Campus. Students enrolled in this program may choose to take courses only in the morning or all day. Find out more about these classes by viewing ESL course descriptions in the college catalog.
The Douglas Campus offers residence and dining halls, and students have access to services such as the library, gymnasium and swimming pool, as well as tutoring, computer labs and multimedia language laboratory.
Cochise College provides accessible educational opportunities that are responsive to a diverse population and lead to constructive citizenship, meaningful careers and lifelong learning.
