General Information About Scholarships
Scholarships to Cochise College and other institutions are available through the Cochise College Foundation. Award amounts vary, and funds usually may be used to cover the cost of tuition, books and supplies. Scholarships are deposited directly into recipients’ Cochise College accounts. They do not have to be repaid. Recipients are determined by a variety of qualifying factors, as specified by donors, and may include financial need, grade point average, program of study, enrollment status, and leadership or community service.

To apply, you will need:

  • Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. Available in all Cochise College computer labs.
  • A college identification number.  All new Cochise College students are assigned an identification number when they apply for admission to Cochise College. To apply for admission – and to receive an identification number - click here. If you already have applied for admission to Cochise College and have forgotten your user ID, call the Advising Office at (520) 417-4046/4005 (Douglas Campus) or (520) 515-5336/5412 (Sierra Vista Campus).
  • An email address. You will receive notifications through this account, so be sure the email address you provide is current. Click here to look up your Cochise College email address, call the Student Development Center for assistance, or provide another email address you check regularly.

Before You Apply

  • Read the instructions so that you thoroughly complete your application/s; applications that are incomplete or missing information/documentation will not be accepted.
  • It is helpful in assessing financial need if you also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Contact the Financial Aid Office for assistance.
  • Obtain an unofficial copy of your transcripts from your most recent college or high school. Electronic copies can be uploaded through the electronic application system; printed copies can be mailed to the foundation according to the instructions on the application.
  • Save time and stay online! Draft three brief statements, as follows: 1) Describe your educational and career goals. 2) Describe your financial situation and how a scholarship would help you. 3) Describe your extracurricular or community service activities. You will type or paste these responses into the designated section of the online application system.
  • Obtain a letter of recommendation from an instructor, advisor/counselor, or teacher. Electronic copies can be uploaded through the electronic application system; printed copies can be mailed to the foundation according to the instructions on the application.
  • Depending upon the scholarship/s you choose to apply for, you may need to submit an essay in addition to completing the application. Draft your essay in another application and paste it into the appropriate section of the online application.
  • To stop the application process and return to it later, complete the section you’re working on, hit “Save and Exit,” and return to that section using the links at top left after you log in again.
