Become a Resident Assistant
Womans Housing

Serving as a resident assistant is a personally rewarding experience!

Responsibilities
First and foremost, resident assistants promote and maintain a spirit of pride, provide academic and social leadership, and make recommendations about the educational and extracurricular needs of residents to housing staff. Duties include opening/closing of halls, leading floor meetings, activities planning, addressing resident frustrations/problems, and tracking/reporting rule violations.

Resident assistants help maintain the interpersonal and physical environment in the halls and are often called upon to host campus tours or represent the student body on college committees.

Qualifications
To qualify, you need:
   • to have completed at least one semester at Cochise College
   • to have and maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5
   • to be a full-time student, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester (six-plus credits during
    the summer), while holding the position
   • to be in good standing with Housing and Student Life
   • approval from the director of Housing and Student Life for an academic overload (16+ credits)
    while you hold the position.
   • the ability to communicate and relate well with others
