Each spring, the Cochise College Sierra Vista Campus invites fourth- through eighth-grade students from all Cochise County school districts to participate in activities related to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Businesses, educational institutions and organizations from throughout Southern Arizona set up exhibits, demonstrations and workshops so students can see how math and science are fun and exciting to learn in everyday life. It is supported through a grant from Science Foundation Arizona. See a list of activities (PDF) that were available in 2015.
Online registration to register students is currently closed.
Faculty and staff from Cochise College and the University of Arizona, businesses, government agencies and community groups from throughout the state volunteer to share their time each year to make The Math and Science Experience a success. You, too, can get involved. By providing an exhibit at the next Experience, you will share your knowledge, interests and enthusiasm with students from across Cochise County.
Cochise College provides accessible educational opportunities that are responsive to a diverse population and lead to constructive citizenship, meaningful careers and lifelong learning.
