Disappearing Discussion Board PostsQuestion. I typed an assignment on the discussion board and accidentally pushed Save instead of Submit. Then the whole thing disappeared! HELP! How do I get it back? Answer. There are two possible answers to this question, depending on whether you saved an entire thread or just a single item within a thread. Saved ThreadsIf you have attempted to create a thread and then clicked Save rather than Submit then the thread will still be available, but will be hidden when you access the forum with a default view. To see saved threads, click the small drop down box beside Display at the top of the forum screen. In the drop down box, select Show All and then click the Go button.
Any saved threads in your forum will then show up with the word draft beside them (as shown above). You can click on the thread's title to open it, edit it, and then submit it for public display. Note: There is a drop down box labeled Change Status at the top of the screen (not visible in the image above). That box should change the status of a selected thread to Published; but it does not seem to work at this time. You will have to open and then submit any draft threads in order to publish them for public view. Saved Discussion Items Within a ThreadIf you have created a discussion item in a thread and then clicked Save instead of Submit, that item should show up whenever the thread is open. The item will have the word Draft beside the title (as shown below). You can click on the title of the item and then click the Modify button to continue to edit your thoughts. Once you have completed editing, click Submit to post your comment for everyone to see.
