K-12 Outreach Programs
These programs are part of the college’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Pathway Initiatives for students at Cochise County elementary, middle and high schools. K-12 Outreach strives to provide creative, fun, real-world activities that promote a STEM pathway for students. Programs for elementary and middle school students emphasize expanding appreciation for the STEM areas and experiencing these areas as exciting, relevant and fun to learn. Programs for students in high school and beyond continue to encourage further exploration of the STEM areas as they begin to acquire the knowledge and skills to be competitive in related fields.
Every year, the AFCEA Club sponsors a competition called Computer Challenge (formerly Computer Olympics). We invite high school, middle school, and elementary school students from the Cochise County area to come to Cochise College and compete against other students in computer related activities.
