Our certification courses have been developed to be especially relevant in today's high-tech, high-stress business environment. They include specialized training in management, supervisory and workplace skills.  Our national caregiver training program was designed following the fundamentals of adult learning theory and provides standardized, high-quality, hands-on training while teaching essential care skills.

Management Certificate
The Management Certificate Program is designed to provide mid-level and upper-level supervisors and managers with the knowledge and analytical skills necessary to effectively meet the challenges and opportunities facing today’s and tomorrow’s competitive organizations.

Particular attention is paid to honing the leadership and resource management skills of supervisors and managers. MGT 201-203 focuses on managing programs. Upon successful completion of the Management Certificate Program, you receive a joint Cochise College – American Management Association Certificate in Management.

Supervisory Management Certificate
With a strong emphasis on the manager as a supervisor of people, this program for public, private and non-profit sector supervisors/managers provides the necessary skills to effectively meet the challenges and opportunities that supervisors/managers face in the rapidly changing workplace environment. Each course meets for 32 hours and must be taken in the order presented.

Workplace Skills Certificate
The Workplace Skills Certificate program was created in response to requests from Cochise County employers.  he purpose is to provide fundamental workplace skills training to enhance the employability of the workforce and expand the skills of individuals who are currently employed.

The program consists of six four-hour blocks of training. Five of the blocks (20 hours) are core requirements. Participants must select one additional elective block to complete the certificate requirement. The Workplace Skills Certificate will be awarded upon completion of six blocks (24 hours) of training.

All training includes student participation in group activities that simulate actual workplace scenarios.

National Caregiver Training Program
This 18-hour curriculum is perhaps the most comprehensive and highest quality caregiver educational program available today. A tremendous amount of thought and heart has gone into the materials. The National Caregiver Training Program is in use across the country in hundreds of hospitals, area agencies on aging, and home health agencies to teach family caregivers, home health and personal care aides.

Trained care providers can find entry-level employment, then move up the career ladder to become CNAs, LPNs, or RNs. Department of Labor statistics project that Americans will need 433,000 more personal care and home health aides to provide home-based services by 2008.
