Caregiver Programs


Assisted Living Caregiver

This is a four-day bridge program to prepare students with a current CNA or LNA and at least three months related experience, to care for and work with clients in Assisted Living Facilities.  Students who successfully complete the 2-credit-hour course are eligible to take the State Certification test to become an Arizona Assisted Living Facility Caregiver in the state of Arizona

Students will receive training in personal, supervisory, and direct care services for assisted living clients. Topics include medication management, infection control, nutrition and safety, and emergency management; communication, mental health, and social needs; and legal and ethical issues.   Students will also test during the course for their Arizona State Food Handler Certificate.

Home Health Aid

This program prepares students to work as a home health aid caregiver. There are no prerequisites for this program. The program consists of two consecutive 8-week sessions. Students who complete this program are eligible to receive payment for service by Medicare and Medicaid.
