The San Pedro River Arts Council presents “Radiance of Joy: The Art of Self as Medicine,” a solo exhibition by featured artist IreneSofia, on display from Nov. 4 through Dec. 18, 2025, at the Cochise College Benson Center in Benson, Arizona.
The exhibition invites viewers to immerse themselves in the luminous world of self-portraiture as a powerful means of healing and self-discovery.
“In my art, I seek to transcend the boundaries of mere representation, transforming
imagery into a visual language of
healing and intuitive self-discovery,” said IreneSofia. “Each piece emerges as a luminary,
casting beams of joyous radiance through digitally manipulated photographic images."
Her digital images are printed on Kodak’s Endura Metallic paper, which gives each image a distinctive brilliance. The paper’s silvery metallic surface reflects light through the pigments, creating a radiant, almost translucent glow that perfectly embodies the exhibition’s title.
“With Kodak discontinuing this award-winning paper, every print in this show becomes truly one-of-a-kind,” said IreneSofia. “It’s a rare opportunity to experience such depth of emotion and technical artistry in one exhibition.”
A “Meet the Artist” event will be held Nov. 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with IreneSofia about her creative process and the role of art in self-discovery.
A long-time resident of Safford, Arizona, IreneSofia lives with her husband in a home surrounded by desert views of Mount Graham.
