Cochise Newsroom
Cochise College continues to strengthen community engagement and inspire interest in technology and career skills through a range of educational offerings and activities for local youth, including its annual Computer Challenge.
The Computer Challenge will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the Sierra Vista Campus. Nearly 200 students and advisors representing about nine Cochise County middle and high schools are expected to participate.
Students will compete for awards and prizes across multiple categories. Some include theory tests, such as Java programming and game design; hands-on competitions, such as word processing and spreadsheets; speaking competitions, such as professional interviews, extemporaneous speaking and team events.
Schools interested in participating are encouraged to register early. To sign up for the Computer Challenge, individuals interested in volunteering can contact Dan Guilmette at guilmetted@cochise.edu.
Anyone needing accommodation to attend should contact Accessibility Services at (520) 515-5337 at least 72 hours before the event.
