Public invited to Star Watch Parties at Cochise College locations

A Night Under Cochise County’s Dark Skies

 

Cochise College invites families, alumni and the public to step outside and look up at the county’s dark skies during a series of Star Watch Parties across Cochise County this spring semester.  

 

The outdoor gatherings offer a relaxed, family-friendly way to experience Arizona’s famous dark skies. Participants can view the night sky stargazing through powerful telescopes, learn how to identify constellations and galaxies, and get a close look at the moon and planets. No experience is needed. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the events.  

 

The events are hosted by Cochise College’s science Instructor, Dr. Chad Davies. All ages are welcome. 

 

Upcoming Star Watch Parties are scheduled at multiple college locations:  

 

  • Wed., Jan. 21 — Sierra Vista Campus | 6:30 p.m.

  • Tues., Feb. 10 — Benson Center | 7 p.m.

  • Tues, March 24— Willcox Center | 7:30 p.m.

  • Tues, April 21- Douglas Campus | 7 p.m.

The Star Watch Parties are free and open to the public.
