Cochise College is partnering with the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office to provide in-person FAA Part 107 training and testing for the Sheriff’s Office and other local law enforcement agencies. The two-day training is scheduled for February. Participants who successfully complete the course and exam will earn the FAA’s Commercial Remote Pilot certification, which is valid for three years. This offering is a targeted training opportunity rather than a full academic program at this time, designed to support public safety agencies with specialized, workforce-aligned instruction.
Cochise College President, Dr. James Perey, said, “Conversations will continue with our law enforcement partners about additional training opportunities focused on advanced technologies and the evolving needs of public safety.”
