As the 2026 election season begins, Cochise College recognizes Help America Vote Day and invites students, faculty, staff, and community members to participate in events throughout the semester that highlight the importance of civic engagement.
The college observed Help America Vote Day on Jan. 27, a national, nonpartisan initiative aimed at inspiring greater civic engagement and volunteerism and helping ensure accessible elections in 2026. This initiative is also an opportunity to share election, poll worker, and voting information from trusted sources.
"We are excited to recognize Help America Vote Day and kick off our civic engagement efforts as we commemorate America's 250th anniversary in Arizona," said Andy Espinoza, co-chair of the college's Civic Engagement Committee. "Our goal is to encourage students, faculty and staff to stay informed, engaged and active participants in elections and their communities."
The college will host a variety of events, volunteer opportunities, and service-learning activities throughout the year to reinforce the importance of civic participation. Planned activities include Voting Rocks awareness events, themed library book displays, conversations in civility discussions, community cleanup days, and more.
