Cochise Newsroom
For students thinking about college, figuring out how to pay for it can be one of the biggest questions. Cochise College is bringing free FAFSA assistance into communities across Cochise County this fall to help students and families find answers and potentially connect with financial aid that can make college more affordable.
FAFSA workshops and college info events will be offered in Bisbee, Sierra Vista and Tombstone for high school seniors or students planning to attend college in fall 2027, current college students and their families.
Cochise College professionals will be available to guide attendees through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, commonly known as the FAFSA, and provide information about scholarships and other resources for paying for college.
The FAFSA is used to determine eligibility for federal financial aid, including grants, work-study opportunities, and student loans. Completing the application can also be an important step toward qualifying for other forms of financial assistance.
Parents and family members are welcome to attend with their students or attend on their behalf when appropriate. The workshops give families an opportunity to ask questions and receive one-on-one assistance while navigating the financial aid process.
